Healthy babies, healthy brains
We can't say enough about the importance of the first 3 years of life in terms of brain development and setting the stage for learning, social relationships, and health throughout life. When we get it "right" during the first few years, we pave the way for a brighter future and build resiliency that helps kids bounce back from setbacks, disappointments and adversity.
As a parent or caregiver, you are your child's first teacher and the most important link to the outside world. Talking and listening, playing, comforting and nourishing your baby are the building blocks of brain development and a strong foundation for life.

The Best Start Resource Centre in Ontario just launched "Healthy Baby, Healthy Brain" a campaign for parents of 0-3 year olds. We are grateful to Best Start Resource Centre/Health Nexus for giving us permission to post their videos on our website. The videos are short, practical, parent-friendly and based on evidence about what works! But the best part is that these videos feature real parents, everyday moms and dads, and their kids.
The campaign breaks down parenting of babies and toddlers into 5 key messages:
- Start early
- Love builds brains
- Playing builds brains
- Healthy living builds brains
- Baby's world matters
